LOVE YOUR LIVER! |
Your liver is amazing. It performs around 500 tasks at the same time, and has a strong influence over your overall health and wellbeing. As well as detoxifying impurities found in foods, drugs, air pollution and so on, the liver helps to control blood cholesterol and pressure, creates enzymes, and break down old hormones like adrenaline and oestrogen.
The liver gets rid of all the toxins which pass through it by putting them into either bile or urea. Bile salts in bile are partly made from old red blood cells, and excess cholesterol. It’s then stored in the gallbladder
until it’s needed to help break down fats in the intestines. The bile then binds to fibre in the gut and is carried through the rest of the digestive system along with any neutralised toxins it contains. Other impurities are put into urea for excretion via the kidneys, so the liver and kidneys work very closely together, and if one isn’t
working well, it will put pressure on the other. Because of the stresses our modern lifestyle puts on the liver, it’s safe to assume that everyone needs a bit of a helping hand. CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS
